AQS Announces two new certifications: NSF/ANSI 61 & WRAS

Netanya, Israel, 27 March 2023, AQS (Aquarius Spectrum) by Aliaxis, a leading provider of acoustic solutions for water leak detection and NRW reduction in municipal water networks, is pleased to announce the addition of two certifications that demonstrate its ongoing commitment to excellence and quality:

The 1st certification, NSF 61/372, under the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) was accepted by UL and is related to the company’s best-in-class hydrophones, which have met the requirements for UL certification. Aquarius AQSense-Edge NB-IOT hydrophones are the most advanced leak detection sensors for PVC & PE pipes up to 24” and for large diameter pipes. This certificate evaluates the safety and performance of products that come into contact with drinking water, ensures that these products do not contribute harmful levels of contaminants to drinking water, and that they are manufactured with materials that are safe and don’t leach harmful substances into the water.

Products that are certified as meeting NSF 61/372 standards have been rigorously tested and meet the criteria for use in public water supply systems. The standard is recognized and enforced by regulatory agencies across the United States and other countries and is a requirement for many municipal and state projects.

The 2nd is WRAS certification under the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme, which indicates compliance with the UK Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999. These regulations are designed to protect public health and ensure that water is not wasted, misused, or contaminated. The WRAS certification process involves testing and evaluating water fittings and materials to ensure they comply with the regulations. Once a product has been certified, it can bear the WRAS approved logo, indicating that it is safe to use with drinking water and meets the standards required by the regulations.

The NSF61 and WRAS certifications extend the existing portfolio of the company’s certifications which includes the CE, FCC, Mil810 and ISO 9001:2015 certifications.

Danny Rosenbluth, Aquarius’ Chief Business Development Officer, said: “We are proud to achieve these certifications, which reflect our dedication to delivering high-quality products and services and our commitment to environmental protection and water conservation. We believe that these certifications will provide our customers with greater confidence in our ability to meet their needs and expectations and will allow us to extend our presence into both existing and new markets, such as USA and UK.”
